Bio:

As an admission counselor, Zach Gunzelman gets to tell prospective students and their families what a great place Concordia is. Before returning to his alma matter as a counselor, Zach worked for nine years as a middle school English teacher at Faith Lutheran Middle School and High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Zach graduated from Concordia in 2007 with a degree in secondary education with a language arts field endorsement. Zach enjoys learning about current events, having new experiences and sometimes doing nothing all day long.

What do you enjoy about working at Concordia?

I love being back at Concordia. I missed the atmosphere and the people. There’s nothing better than being excited that you get to come to work each day and interact with people who care about you and want to do what’s best for the university. Serving at Concordia is great because I get to help students pursue their passions.

Favorite Foods: I love Mexican food, gyros, ramen. Pretty much anything really. I love good food.

Favorite Movie: I don’t know if I have a favorite. When I was a kid I loved Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. My favorite TV show is The Office.

Favorite Place on Campus: Founders Hall because it tells Concordia’s history. I think of what it must have been like in 1894 when we were just one building in the middle of farmland with just those first couple students, and compare that to where we are today and how God has blessed us in so many ways.
