Albert Amling named 2016 LEA Distinguished Lutheran Elementary Administrator

Albert Amling was selected to receive Lutheran Education Association’s 2016 Distinguished Lutheran Elementary Administrator award. Amling is superintendent of schools at Hales Corners Lutheran Schools in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. He was selected by LEA’s Leadership Network leadership team.

 Amling earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Concordia University, Nebraska and a Master of Science in education from Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, Wisconsin. He has been a Lutheran school administrator for 31 years, serving schools in Nebraska, California and Wisconsin. He served in many leadership and service positions in Lutheran education through Lutheran Education Association, the English District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and LCMS School Ministry.

 In support of Amling’s nomination, his pastor wrote, “Albert Amling is … a man of God who loves the teachers, administrators, students and families who serve alongside him … and [he] is a fantastic servant leader. He is a strong, but fair, patient and wise leader of his faculty and staff. … He has led us … toward passionate fulfillment of the Great Commission.”

 One teacher commented, “Albert focuses on doing what’s best for children as he coordinates professional development and leadership opportunities for our staff. He wants each person to develop the skills and abilities needed to reach their highest potential as God has intended and continues to provide opportunities for growth.”

 Concerning his many joys in ministry, Amling stated, “My greatest joys will always be working with students, both current and former. When students give their best, in the face of the world, I am happy. When students share their faith because they want to, I am overjoyed. One of my most favorite things to do is to assist in growing young leaders into the leaders that God wants them to be.”
