Dr. Jen Janousek has served at Concordia University, Nebraska since 2001, where she is a professor in the Health and Human Performance Department and currently directs the Master of Public Health program. She finds great joy in teaching global health courses and leading students on international mission trips to Guatemala and Haiti, helping them see how public health knowledge can be used to serve others in Christ's name.
Dr. Janousek is a Certified Health Education Specialist and an active member of the American Public Health Association (APHA), Public Health Association of Nebraska (PHAN) and Society of Public Health Education (SOPHE). Her dissertation research focused on HPV vaccine acceptance among college women, and she continues to advocate for preventative health education locally and globally.
Dr. Janousek recently contributed to Faith at Work (Concordia Publishing House, 2024) with her chapter “Serving God in Public Health Professions.” In 2025, she was installed as a Commissioned Minister of Religion in the LCMS, reflecting her commitment to integrating faith and vocation in all areas of life and teaching.
Outside of work, Jen and her husband, Tim, stay busy with their four children. She also leads mission trips to Guatemala through her church, The Rock Lutheran Church, and enjoys serving in various ministries while supporting students as they discover their calling to serve God and others through public health.

Exercise Science

Through traditional coursework and hands-on experiential training, you will gain not only the pre-requisites required to apply to the graduate school of your choice, but also develop a variety of skills that will be necessary in clinical practice as a certified athletic trainer practicing in the field of sports medicine.
Pre-Chiropractic
While studying pre-chiropractic at Concordia University, Nebraska, you will participate in service-learning opportunities on campus and in the local community, working with Special Olympics athletes, interning at various health facilities and collaborating with local high schools to promote physical education and an active, healthy lifestyle.
