Concordia University, Nebraska’s agricultural science program offers a broad, general approach to learning about the industry without having to specialize in one area. You’ll learn the four main concepts in agriculture—agribusiness, animal science, food science and plant science—through a Christ-centered, Lutheran perspective that will equip you to be a responsible steward of God’s creation. With one in four jobs in Nebraska relating to agriculture, this program will prepare you for your future in ag through internships and hands-on projects.
Agribusiness
Learn the fundamentals of agricultural economics and finance to prepare you for service in the ag industry.
Animal Science
Explore the disciplines of animal production, including breeding and genetics, meat science, nutrition and reproductive physiology.
Food Science
Work closely with food producers on best practices for safe crop and animal production to provide food products.
Plant Science
Discover the fundamentals of field and forage crop production, including utilization, yield potential, soil fertility relationships and pest management.

An Ag Community
Concordia’s location in Seward County, Nebraska, a thriving agricultural area with nearly 1,000 farms and various multinational and regional industry facilities, provides you extensive hands-on learning opportunities. Our program will incorporate internships and projects with local producers, seed companies, lenders, food processors, livestock breeders and agribusiness companies, designed to meet your goals.
