Dr. Kathleen Wheeler has served at Concordia University, Nebraska since 2012 and currently leads as program director for the Master of Education in Literacy. She also serves as the graduate accreditation and assessment coordinator, supporting academic quality and continuous improvement across the university’s graduate programs. 

With a background in literacy education, Wheeler has taught both undergraduate and graduate students during her time at Concordia. Currently, her teaching is focused on graduate-level coursework in the field of literacy. Among her favorite courses to teach are EDUC 519: Word Study—Decoding, Comprehension & Fluency, EDUC 520: Literacy Assessment & Intervention and EDUC 635: Survey of Contemporary Literature from PK–12. 

Wheeler holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harding University, a Master of Education from Baylor University, and an Ed.D. from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Her expertise in literacy instruction and assessment informs both her teaching and her leadership in program development and evaluation.
