Brian Klintworth has served as an adjunct instructor of accounting at Concordia University, Nebraska since 2021, teaching the university’s tax accounting course for upper-level accounting majors. His course focuses on individual taxation, offering students a foundational understanding of the U.S. tax code and the process of preparing a tax return.
Klintworth is a Certified Public Accountant and a partner at HBE LLP, a public accounting firm headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, with additional offices in Norfolk and Omaha. As the firm’s tax director, he leads across all areas of tax practice, including individual, corporate, partnership and trust tax returns. He devotes much of his time to specialized tax consulting, providing expertise in tax research, estate and trust planning, mergers and acquisitions and the implementation of new tax laws.
Beyond client work, Klintworth plays a key role in the internal operations of HBE. He is involved in managing the tax department, training and developing employees and driving business development efforts.
Klintworth is actively involved in the Nebraska Society of CPAs. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2022 and will serve as chairman from October 2024 through November 2025.
He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting and finance from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2015 and a Master of Taxation from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law in 2019.
Klintworth and his wife Amanda live on an acreage just outside of Seward. In his free time, he enjoys working outdoors, golfing, spending time with family and staying engaged in both the Lincoln and Seward communities.
