Marxhausen Gallery of Art releases 2025-2026 exhibition schedule

The Marxhausen Gallery of Art at Concordia University, Nebraska recently released the lineup of its scheduled art exhibitions for the academic year beginning in Fall 2025. The gallery, located on Concordia’s campus in Jesse Hall, features exhibitions each year from students and professional artists.
If students, faculty or community members wish to view the works on display at the Marxhausen Gallery of Art on their own, the gallery is open from Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed on Saturdays and when classes are not in session. Admission is free.

Earth as A Sign: Highlights from Concordia’s Permanent Collection
September 1-October 12, 2025
The exhibit’s opening reception will take place Sunday, September 21 from 1–4 p.m. with a 2 p.m. gallery talk in the Marxhausen Gallery of Art.
October 13-19, the gallery will be closed for an installation.
Ryan Stander and Shawn Teseo Ballarin: Mixed Media Photography and Woodcut Prints
October 20-December 5, 2025
The exhibit’s opening reception will be Sunday, November 9 from 1–4 p.m. with a 2 p.m. artist’s talk in Thom Auditorium.
November 22-30, 2025, the gallery will be closed for Thanksgiving break.
December 5, 2025-January 19, 2026, the gallery will be closed for Christmas break.
Was God Dead? Biblical Imagination in German Expressionist Prints
January 19-February 27, 2026
The exhibit’s opening reception is Sunday, February 1 from 1–4 p.m. with a 2 p.m. gallery talk in Thom auditorium.
March 1 – 8, 2026 the gallery will be closed for Spring Break.
BFA Thesis Exhibition
March 9-April 2, 2026
The exhibit’s opening reception is Sunday, March 22 in the Marxhausen Gallery of Art.
April 3-12, 202 the gallery will be closed for the Easter holiday.
Annual Student Art Exhibition
April 13-May 3, 2026
The exhibit’s opening reception is Sunday, April 26 from 1-4 p.m. with an awards presentation at 2 p.m. in the Marxhausen Gallery of Art.
The Marxhausen Gallery of Art at Concordia University, Nebraska, named after Reinhold Marxhausen, hosts a wide variety of exhibitions, performances, screenings, and conversations throughout the year that aim to bring Concordia’s campus art community and local residents together.
