The Symphonic Band was formed in 1906 and is the oldest continuing musical organization at Concordia. Under its current director the ensemble has undertaken vigorous concert programs.
Bulldog Pep Band

Concordia's Jazz Ensemble is dedicated to the study and performance of the uniquely American art form of jazz. The ensemble’s repertoire includes early jazz, swing, blues, fusion, funk and Latin styles.
The Brass Ensemble performs at chapel, festival services of the university and local churches, and other on and off campus events. A broad range of literature is performed from Renaissance to the 20th century with special emphasis on music suitable for worship services. Membership is by audition in the fall.
The Chamber Orchestra is open to all students who play a wind, brass, string or percussion instrument and desire to play music from the classical repertoire. Auditions for part placement take place at the beginning of the semester.
Concordia is fortunate to have more than five octaves of handbells and three octaves of handchimes. The handbell choirs participate in chapel, worship services and concerts each semester. There are two sections of handbell choir, an advanced and a beginning group. Handbell auditions are at the beginning of the semester. University Praise Bands are open to all students who sing and/or play an instrument and desire to play at chapel and other various special events, students led events, and road trips. Auditions take place at the beginning of the semester. University Praise Bands are supervised through the Chaplain's office.
