Piano Music from Argentina
Be introduced to piano music from the Argentinian culture: see what makes it unique and get ideas for new repertoire.
Steinway Spirio: Learning from the Best Pianists
Observe a demonstration of the playing and recording capabilities of the Steinway Spirio and how it can be a useful aid in piano study.
Masterclasses
Students will be divided into small groups to work with a clinician. The clinician will hear a student perform a piece and will offer feedback on it. Think of it as a mini lesson with other people watching. Students have the choice of playing or simply observing.

Clinicians
Dr. Elizabeth Grimpo
Dr. Elizabeth Grimpo is professor of music at Concordia University, Nebraska. She teaches aural skills, music appreciation, beauty in the fine arts, and piano lessons. She collaborates and performs regularly with student musicians as well as the choral ensembles, touring with the University A Cappella Choir. Additionally, she performs regularly as a solo pianist, performing music from the classical repertoire as well as newly composed sacred music. She has written multiple volumes of graded settings of hymns and the liturgy, published by David’s Harp – A Center for Musical Development. In 2023, she was inducted into the Steinway Teacher Hall of Fame.
Dr. Cristina Vlad Hayes
Dr. Cristina Vlad Hayes is a pianist, educator, collaborative artist, and adjudicator. She teaches piano and keyboard skills at Concordia University, Nebraska, and maintains a large private studio in Lincoln, Nebraska. As a performer, she has graced stages in Romania, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Germany, Serbia, Austria and the United States, earning numerous honors and awards. As an educator, Dr. Hayes has expertise in piano pedagogy, performance practice and music appreciation. She has a passion for bringing music to people of all ages, helping them realize their full potential and fostering in them a lifelong love for music.
Dr. Marcelo Lian
Dr. Marcelo Lian, an Argentinean-American, is a sought-after performer, clinician and adjudicator. As artist in residence, he has served at many educational institutions across the United States and in Argentina and Puerto Rico. He has performed solo recitals in numerous venues, including stages in Milan, Rome, Crotone, and Carnegie Hall in New York City. He is a contributor to Clavier Companion, an essential journal for pianists and educators. He maintains a busy teaching schedule, including a continuing faculty appointment at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. His recent solo album, Eredità, which can be found on streaming platforms, has been nominated for the Gardel Awards.
