Phil Goddard retired from teaching in 2024 after 34 years in music education, most recently serving 23 years as director of bands at Milford Public Schools. He previously held band director positions in Smith Center, Kansas and at Elmwood-Murdock Public Schools in Nebraska.
He earned a Bachelor of Music from Hastings College (1989) and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Doane University (2009). He and his wife, Shannon, have lived in Lincoln since 1992 and are proud parents of two daughters.
In retirement, he works in logistics at Bryan Health, serves as the public address announcer for Concordia University baseball, is a member of two local classic rock bands, and directs the University and Bulldog Bands at Concordia University.
