Matt Myers has served at Concordia University, Nebraska since 2014 and currently leads as Director of the Academic Resource Center and Disability Support Services. In this role, he supports both undergraduate and graduate students by helping them connect with academic resources, navigate challenges and grow in their faith during their time at Concordia.
Myers began his Concordia service by teaching English to international students, preparing them for undergraduate and graduate study. He has also taught First Year Experience for undergraduate freshmen and currently teaches “Teaching ESL Writing” in the university’s graduate program.
Before coming to Concordia, Myers served as a career missionary with The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod for 16 years in Southeast Asia. During that time, he taught in several universities and led multiple English centers, combining education and mission work to share Christ across cultures.
Myers holds a Master of Arts in Leadership in Teaching with a concentration in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. He is also a rostered Director of Christian Outreach in the LCMS.
He is active in his local LCMS congregation, where he serves in leadership, has taught middle school Bible classes and plays guitar on the worship team. Originally from Baltimore, he is a lifelong fan of the Orioles.
Myers and his wife, Kim, who serves as director of communications for the LCMS Nebraska District, live in Nebraska and have two adult children, Mark and Emily.
“We have so many talented people serving here at Concordia who love the Lord and love to see others succeed, from the faculty and staff to the students. It's great to work, learn and enjoy fellowship in such an encouraging Christian atmosphere. ”
