He considers his work on campus a ministry, one that allows him to walk alongside students and colleagues in faith.

Brooks and his wife, Janice ’89, have been married for 37 years. Together, they have five children and eight grandchildren. The Brooks family treasures their time together, and Gene especially enjoys horseback riding, hunting, fishing, gardening and building things in his spare time.

“At Concordia we have the incredible freedom and opportunity to share the love of Christ with students but also be encouraged and strengthened in our own faith.”
