My favorite thing about being a music education major is sharing the gift of music with others. I know that my music classes are preparing me to teach and share the beauty of music.

“My favorite thing about being a music education major is sharing the gift of music with others!” says Grace Woelmer. “My fellow students and I are often talking about music and love sharing music in recitals and concerts. I only continue to learn more and more about music as I study, and I will get a chance as a teacher to share music with others.”

Grace chose Concordia University, Nebraska because she wanted to continue her education at a Lutheran school. That, combined with Concordia’s reputation for excellent music and education programs, made her choice easy. And here, she’s getting prepared for being a music teacher.

“I already receive a taste of what I will be doing, because I teach piano lessons to students in the Seward area,” Grace says. “Music is a gift, for the performer and the listener. Music is a gift that every child should experience. Along with teaching piano lessons, I know that my music classes are preparing me to teach and share the beauty of music.”
