The Art of a Student Athlete

Professor Don Robson is my favorite professor. He’s always joking about, trying to imitate my accent and we have good camaraderie.

It’s difficult to juggle being a student and an athlete, with practice, classes, games, and homework.  Graphic design major Sean Doran thinks the struggle is worth it, however. “Balancing soccer and school is not easy but something that has to be done as a student-athlete,” Sean says. “I feel that the best way to handle the busy schedule is to take less credits during the fall semester and then take more during the spring when soccer is finished.”

When he started at Concordia, the Dublin, Ireland native had to get used to the life of a student-athlete and life in the United States. “It took a while for me to get used to the small town/community environment when I first came, but the town and college grow on you and I really like it here.”
