Concordia University, Nebraska Spring 2025 Esports Wrap Up

Concordia University, Nebraska’s esports team competes in League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League and Valorant. They are a part of the National Esports Collegiate Conference in Rocket League and Overwatch. This semester, three of the five teams made it to a post-season tournament.
League of Legends had a 5-3 season and made the playoffs losing in the first round. Additionally, they made enough points over the course of the fall and spring semesters to qualify for nationals also losing in the first round. However, they qualified out of over 32 other teams and finished in the top eight in the division.
Rocket League went 2-5 this semester. However, as the team is made up of two freshman and a sophomore, they are looking forward to building and improving the team next year. Overwatch also had a 2-5 season.
In the fall, the Valorant team won the conference championship which qualified them for nationals. They were placed up a division this semester and had a 3-3 season, but because they won last semester, they made the nationals tournament. The team won their game on April 28 and appeared in the championship game on May 5.

Esports at Concordia University, Nebraska provides a friendly, supportive and Christian environment where competitors can work with teammates to be a better gamer, communicator and student. Through our membership with the National Association of College Esports (NACE), the largest college esports governing organization, students have opportunities to compete against teams spanning from the NAIA to NCAA Division I.
