Jeannine Liebmann serves Concordia University, Nebraska as an adjunct professor for the university’s Marriage and Family Therapy and Family Life Education graduate programs teaching an introduction to basic counseling skills course.

Liebmann has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in professional counseling from Concordia University Wisconsin. The 2026-2027 school year will be her third at the university.

“I love interacting with my students and helping them think critically about the challenges they will face as counselors,” she said. “The ability and encouragement to share God's Word and His plan for human relationships is what makes working at Concordia unique and powerful. The bottom line for counselors is to speak the truth in love to our clients and families. The foundation of God's T=truth is what we need as we help others repair their hearts, minds and relationships.”

“The ability and encouragement to share God's Word and His plan for human relationships is what makes working at Concordia unique and powerful.”

She said hearing her students’ stories and perspectives enriches her spiritual life. She said many of her students have overcome or are currently dealing with adversity.

“To watch them become vulnerable with each other and care for each other is beautiful,” she said.

Liebmann met her husband, Bob, at Concordia Wisconsin. He is a pastor and they have three grown sons, one of whom is in the seminary in St. Louis. They have lived in the St. Louis area and have been at their church for 25 years. She facilitates GriefShare support groups, is part of a mental health initiative in their community, and participates in Guatemala mission trips each year. She loves to hike and line dance, and she and her husband both love to travel.

A licensed therapist since 2007, Liebmann has had her own practice, worked in community and outpatient mental health, and currently works for a small employee assistance program in St. Louis.

“I love teaching and am so blessed to be able to teach these classes for Concordia Nebraska,” she said.
