Concordia University, Nebraska today announced that four students have been inducted into the university’s Eta Theta chapter of Phi Epsilon Kappa (PEK). Elena Batenhorst, Greta Corneliusen, Seanna Patterson and Micah Henschen were honored by the university on November 12.

“The name (PEK) stands for the motto ‘friendship hath power’ and represents the avenues by which an individual seeks to attain ‘a sound mind in a sound body.’ Elena, Greta, Seanna and Micah are very deserving recipients of this honor,” ,” said Dr. Nolan Harms, Associate Professor of Health and Human Performance and Chair of the Health and Human Performance Department. “As they journey through life, it is my hope that the personal connections each student has established at Concordia will encourage them to pursue their greatest desires and dreams in their chosen fields. I look forward to following their academic and personal achievements for many years to come.”

PEK is a national professional academic honorary society for students engaged in or pursuing careers in health and human performance professions. In order to become a member, students must maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.25, major in some aspect of health and human performance, have at least junior standing, provide service to the Concordia community and participate in extracurricular activities.
