Concordia Nebraska announces new Micah Scholars program participants

Concordia University, Nebraska’s Micah Pre-Health Scholars program is entering into its second academic year. The program is designed to help students interested in healthcare careers by giving them hands-on experiences, a community of students and professors with similar interests and graduate school preparation. 

This year’s incoming group of Micah Scholars spans career fields including medicine, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, nursing and nurse anesthesia. 

“The desire to serve others is quite evident in this Micah cohort--all incoming Micah Scholars not only had a strong academic background in high school, especially in science; they also had demonstrated a deep desire to serve others, as seen in their extensive volunteer service to their local schools, communities and churches.”

 “I am so excited to welcome our inaugural Micah Pre-Health Scholars Cohort!” said Director of Micah Scholars Dr. Teddie Genter. “The eight Micah Scholars that will be joining us are a wonderful group of young people who are eager and enthusiastic about using the gifts that God has given them to serve as extensions of His healing hands in future healthcare vocations. The desire to serve others is quite evident in this Micah cohort--all incoming Micah Scholars not only had a strong academic background in high school, especially in science; they also had demonstrated a deep desire to serve others, as seen in their extensive volunteer service to their local schools, communities and churches.”

Concordia University, Nebraska’s Micah Pre-Health Scholars program is designed to support students interested in healthcare careers through hands-on experiences working in healthcare, close relationships with professors, practicing health professionals and peers who share their interests and graduate or professional school preparation.
