The No. 5 Bulldogs met with the Mustangs inside Friedrich Arena breaking into conference play on Saturday afternoon. Concordia University, Women’s Basketball hit double digit threes as the lead changed 10 times in the GPAC victory.
Coming off a win at No. 6 Dakota State, the fifth-ranked Bulldogs now return home to host Morningside to open GPAC play. Head Coach Drew Olson's program placed second in the GPAC last season.
When Dakota State whittled a 15-point Concordia lead down to six, the fifth-ranked Bulldogs responded impressively while getting two clutch treys from Megan Belt. Concordia won in South Dakota, 64-54.
In a quick turnaround, Concordia pushed NCAA Division I Northern Colorado to the wire on Monday, just two days after completing the Cattle Classic. Now the fifth-ranked Bulldogs look ahead to a trip to South Dakota.
No. 5 Concordia trimmed a 10-point fourth quarter deficit down to two before being edged by 10th-ranked Southern Oregon, 71-68, at the Cattle Classic. The Bulldogs were led by the 18 points from Kendal Brigham.
The 25th Cattle Classic was the season opener for the Concordia University, Nebraska Women’s Basketball on Friday. The Bulldogs shot out of a cannon with a 9-0 run and never surrendered the advantage in the 78-64 victory.
The 25th annual Cattle Classic will feature eight games over two days (Nov. 1-2). On the women's side, the event will include three squads ranked in the top 10 of the NAIA preseason poll.
High aspirations will follow Concordia Women's Basketball into another season. The Bulldogs were tagged with a No. 5 ranking in the NAIA preseason poll released on Wednesday (Oct. 23).
