In the second competition of the 2023-24 season for Concordia Powerlifting, 15 Bulldogs claimed top-three individual placements at the 2023 Central Collegiate Regional Championships. Four were champions in their weight classes.
Chetek, Wis., native Rylee Ladd starred at the Husker Strong Meet as she was named the Female Best Lifter award. She was one of seven Bulldogs to claim titles within their respective weight classes as the powerlifting season kicked off.
Seven Bulldogs opened the 2023-24 Concordia Weightlifting season at the Heartland Strength Omaha Classic and all seven qualified for the national championships. The event featured roughly 60 athletes on Sept. 16.
Concordia Powerlifting heads into year two as a program with a growing, more experienced roster. The group of returning national qualifiers includes Dax Davis, Kenzie Houser and Rylee Ladd. The season officially gets started in early October.

A former Bulldog student-athlete, Chevy Stout was promoted to a full-time role as Assistant Coach of the Concordia lifting sports and strength & conditioning programs. Stout began that role officially on April 17.
Four Bulldogs made their way to the national stage in Arlington, Texas, for the USA Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals. Concordia was represented by Dax Davis, Kenzie Houser, Rylee Ladd and Emma Singer.
The inaugural season of competitive powerlifting at Concordia will wrap up this Thursday through Sunday (April 13-16) with the 2023 USA Powerlifting Collegiate National Championships. Four Bulldogs will compete at nationals.
It was another first for Concordia Lifting Sports over the weekend as four Bulldogs represented the weightlifting team at the 2023 National Championships. As a major highlight, Kayleigh Maloney won a first-place medal in snatch.
