Based on their performances this outdoor season, both senior Zach Lurz and assistant coach Ed McLaughlin have been selected as NAIA regional honorees by the USTFCCA, as announced on Monday (May 22).
The Concordia track and field programs are making their return to Gulf Shores, Ala., the site that of plenty of thrilling memories. In each of the last two years, the program has celebrated either a men’s (2015) or women’s (2016) team national title.

The Twilight Meet is back after a year hiatus. The Bulldogs will welcome athletes from 13 other institutions for a one-day meet that will take place in and around Bulldog Stadium.
The awards keep flying in for senior standout Lucas Wiechman, who has now swept GPAC Track and Field Outstanding Athlete of the Year awards for 2017. Zach Lurz took home the honor of Men’s Field Performance of the Meet.
The Concordia University track and field programs combined for 10 GPAC event titles and claimed team finishes of second (men) and third (women) at the conference outdoor championships held in Fremont on Friday and Saturday.
Three different Bulldogs combined for four GPAC individual titles on the opening day of the conference outdoor championships. The Bulldog women are leading the GPAC while the men are currently in second.
It’s GPAC week for the top 10 nationally-ranked Concordia track and field squads. After indoor conference placements of second (men) and fourth (women), the Bulldogs have their sights set on moving up the ladder.
