Names like DJ McGarvie, Austin Jablonski and Mark Arp have earned well-deserved headlines, but the work of the big guys up front has been just as critical for Concordia Football. The Bulldogs' veteran lines have become a force.

A dominant performance in the upset of No. 2 Northwestern has led to NAIA National and GPAC Player of the Week honors for Carson Fehlhafer. The nose guard came up with three sacks in the 29-17 road victory.

Concordia stunned the NAIA football world on Saturday (Oct. 5) by taking down No. 2 Northwestern, 29-17, in Orange City, Iowa. Carson Fehlhafer was dominant up front and the Bulldog secondary picked off four passes.

One week after welcoming ninth-ranked Dordt for homecoming, the Concordia Football team stares down another date with an elite opponent. The Bulldogs (3-2) are readying to head to No. 2 Northwestern for game No. 6 of the season.

Concordia remains in search of that elusive signature win over a ranked opponent. On homecoming Saturday, the Bulldogs were defeated by No. 9 Dordt and its rushing attack, 33-22.

Back-to-back blowout road wins lead Concordia into its homecoming matchup with No. 9 Dordt. The Bulldogs (3-1) and Defenders are both averaging more than 40 points per game in 2024.

Concordia achieved a successful offensive balance, owned the line of scrimmage and was plus-five in turnover margin in a 63-13 steamrolling of Briar Cliff on Saturday (Sept. 21). DJ McGarvie fired five touchdown passes.

As a result of a career best performance, senior running back Mark Arp has been named the GPAC Offensive Player of the Week. Arp rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns in the 42-7 win at Dakota Wesleyan.

Now 2-1, the Bulldogs will bring the nation's 10th-ranked rush offense to Sioux City, Iowa, for the 22nd all-time matchup with Briar Cliff. Concordia is coming off a 42-7 road win over Dakota Wesleyan.
The spring semester for Concordia Football included a large junior visit day as part of the team's open spring practice and a focus on development in the trenches. QB Gideon Stark and other key fifth-year players returned.
Gideon Stark grew up learning about football and Concordia University, Nebraska. It's no surprise that he's now the QB for the Concordia Bulldogs. Says Stark, "I think it’s really cool that I’m able to play on the same team that my family has."
