Linebacker Lane Napier was honored with First Team All-America status by the American Football Coaches Association on Monday (Dec. 13). In addition, tight end Garrett Schardt garnered Honorable Mention All-America accolades.
All-American linebacker Lane Napier returned for a fifth year in 2021 and made good on his aspirations of helping Concordia Football win in a big way. Led by a stifling defense, the Bulldogs closed the campaign on a six-game win streak.

For a second year in a row, Jonah Weyand has been recognized by CoSIDA as an Academic All-District award winner. This marks the 10th-straight year that Concordia Football has had at least one Academic All-District recipient.

The pooch punting of Korrell Koehlmoos in the win at Hastings has earned him the GPAC Special Teams Player of the Week award. Koehlmoos pinned the Broncos inside their own 20 four times.

On a cold and breezy day, the Concordia defense ruled the day while leading the Bulldogs to a sixth win in a row. Lane Napier made 13 tackles in his final game and Concordia won at Hastings, 17-7, in earning a sweep of in-state rivals.

If the Bulldogs continue their winning ways on Saturday, the program will have accomplished a feat it hasn't achieved since 1970: defeat Doane, Hastings and Midland in the same season. Concordia will be at Hastings for the final week of the regular season.

For his role in the 20-13 win over Doane, senior linebacker Jorge Ocha has been named the GPAC Defensive Player of the Week. Ochoa returned an interception for a touchdown and made nine tackles.

Gideon Stark grew up learning about football and Concordia University, Nebraska. It's no surprise that he's now the QB for the Concordia Bulldogs. Says Stark, "I think it’s really cool that I’m able to play on the same team that my family has."
