Naomi Tellez completed her first season as a graduate assistant coach on the Concordia softball staff in 2016-17. With the help of Tellez, the 2017 Bulldogs piled up 34 wins (tied for second most in school history) and placed second in the GPAC.

Tellez graduated from DePaul University in 2016 after a standout softball career for the Blue Demons. The catcher from La Mesa, Calif., earned first team All-Big East and Big East all-tournament team recognition as a senior. In 2016 she batted .366 with 10 home runs and 50 RBIs. She was also a two-time Big East all-academic team selection. She played at the University of New Mexico from 2012-2014 before transferring to DePaul.

Tellez, who has served as a travel ball coach, holds a bachelor of arts degree in organizational communications from DePaul. She is pursuing an MBA in leadership and management from Concordia.

Naomi is the daughter of Jose and Michelle Tellez.
