Tim Aulner teaches horn and brass techniques at Concordia. A Nebraska native, born in Hastings and raised in Omaha, he stayed in the state to earn his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in horn performance at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. During his studies he gained performance experience in many different ensembles: the Symphony Orchestra (principal and second chair), Wind Ensemble (principal and second chair), horn choir, horn quartet, brass quintet, and wind quintet. In the summer of 2022, he participated in the Saarburg Festival, where he rehearsed and performed chamber music throughout western Germany and Luxembourg.
Aulner has performed in many areas of eastern Nebraska. He is an active player with the Hasting Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Omaha, and the Husker Horn Choir. He has also appeared with the Omaha Symphony and the Plymouth Brass. He plays in the brass quintet and sings in the chamber choir at his church, Christ Lincoln. When not rehearsing and performing, he maintains a private studio and holds the brass teaching position at the Omaha School of Music and Dance.
Aulner and his wife, Michaela, live in Lincoln and have a daughter (Raelynn) and a golden retriever (Cora). They enjoy spending time outside on walks, bike rides, and playing at parks.
