In 2002, Kite was named Concordia's Outstanding Graduate in Music Education. With concentrations in K-12 vocal music and K-8 elementary education, Kite has experience teaching music in both large and small schools. She enjoys working with student teachers from within the classroom as a cooperating teacher or as a student teaching supervisor for Concordia.
Kite received her Master of Music degree, with a concentration in music education, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research interests include music copyright law, implementing National Music Standards in the classroom, and teaching composition to elementary students. In addition to directing Concordia's Handbell Choirs and Teacher Lab - Elementary Music Methods, Kite also has a private piano studio.
