Volleyball team members win Amazing Grace food and clothing drive

Members of the Concordia’s volleyball team competed in the Amazing Grace college food and clothing drive for the People’s City Mission in Lincoln. With 2,058 pounds donated, the Concordians took first place in the competition.
Teams made up of college students from Lincoln competed to collect the most food and clothing. In addition to the clothes and food collected, the teams could add to the total weight of their donation by earning points through a scavenger hunt created by the mission staff. Concordia was the first group to unload their bags of donations, and their total remained the mark to beat all day.
“I told the team that if this was the project we were going to take on, we were going to do our absolute best, and the girls did just that,” said head coach Rachel Miller. “They sought out donations from family and friends, and I’m very proud of what they did to help PCM.”
For their efforts, the team won tickets to Country Stampede courtesy of Froggy 98 and gift certificates to daVinci’s.
