Three students from Concordia University, Nebraska earned art awards at the 2015 Nebraska Independent College Foundation/O’Keefe Elevator Company Art Show in Omaha, Nebraska.

“This exhibition provides students with the opportunity to understand what is involved in entering shows, to see work from other college art students and to be recognized for their talent and earn money either through placing or purchase awards,” said Professor of Art Don Robson.

Sylvia Braun, a senior, earned the top spot in 3-D artwork for her piece “To Hang.” Hannah Willison, a junior, won first place in the 2-D artwork category with her mixed media piece, “Untitled.” Senior Hannah Miller earned third place with her piece “Wrestling Abstraction” in the 2-D artwork category.

The Nebraska Independent College Foundation supports Nebraska's nine private higher educational institutions through fundraising, marketing, professional development events and advocacy. The annual art contest brings in the top student artists from colleges around the state to compete for awards.

All entries are on display at the O’Keefe Elevator Gallery until the end of April. The gallery is located on the first floor of the O’Keefe Elevator Company on 1402 Jones Street in Omaha. It is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
