Concordia University, Nebraska’s Symphonic Band, under the direction of Andrew Schultz, performed its annual spring concert at Seward High School on Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m.

The ensemble was formed in 1906 and is the oldest continuing musical organization at Concordia. The concert program included sacred, multicultural and contemporary pieces in addition to the traditional concert band repertoire.

Percussionist Andrew Metcalf enjoys the camaraderie of the band and the chance to use his music to honor God. “The Symphonic Band gives me the opportunity to make some fantastic music with people who play for the same reason that I do, to give glory to God,” said Metcalf.
