Students perform "Lost in Yonkers" at Concordia
Concordia will be presenting “Lost in Yonkers,” a dynamic play about family matters, on Nov. 6, 7, 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. in Weller Auditorium on campus.
“The rehearsals have been a delicate balance of learning how to bring out verbal and physical humor amidst such serious topics surrounding the family,” says Associate Professor of Communication and Theatre Bryan Moore. “The actors are tackling this challenging script and their characters with maturity and focus, and I am excited to see them continue this process toward a solid production.”
The play tells the story of the Kurnitz family, including two teenage boys who are forced to live with their stern grandmother, a few crazy aunts and a gangster uncle as a result of their father leaving them for a job to pay off debt. It was written by Neil Simon and won a Pulitzer Prize for Best Drama in 1991.
Tickets are $4 for Concordia faculty, staff and students and $8 for general admission.
