Speakers to present on mediation, ethics and elder care at Concordia

Mediation, ethics and elder care will be the topics of two presentations at Concordia on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 12:40 p.m. and 1:40 p.m. in the Thom Leadership Education Center auditorium. Area experts in social work, law and bioethics will lead both sessions. The presentations are free and open to the public.
The first session will focus on the role of mediation, and the second will focus on ethics and elder care decision-making processes. The presentations will conclude with an opportunity for role-play for those who are interested.
Presenters include Gale Jungemann-Schulz, Ade T. Badejo, Jacob Dahlke and Calynn Schuck.
Jungemann-Schulz has served as the executive director of The Resolution Center in Beatrice, Nebraska, since 2011 and has more than 15 years of experience in non-profit and government administration and management.
Badejo serves as an advocate manager for CASA, Court-Appointed Special Advocates, in Kearney, Nebraska, and works from The Resolution Center in Beatrice. Badejo has a master’s degree in conflict analysis and dispute resolution and has worked for the last 13 years as an arbitrator and facilitator.
Dahlke is a bioethics consultant in Omaha, Nebraska.
Schuck specializes in law and mediation practice. She is a contract mediator with a private law practice in Beatrice, Nebraska.
The joint presentation is part of the Looking Beyond Speaker Series made possible in part through an ongoing gift from Martin and Regina Maehr. The series was created to expose Concordia students and the Seward community to diverse speakers and ideas.
