New Student Senate Leaders named for upcoming 2025-2026 school year

Concordia University, Nebraska recently announced its upcoming Student Senate leadership team, which will take over the governance of the club starting in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Officers for the upcoming school year include senior Quinlan Hendrickson of Lincoln, Nebraska, as president, senior Ramona Ojeda of Lexington, Nebraska, as vice president, senior Emma VanTol of Unionville, Michigan, as treasurer and junior Kayla Korb of Burley, Idaho, as secretary.
Hendrickson served on the Senate this past academic year as the vice president. He originally ran to help him expand his skills in communication, networking and organization. He also wants to improve communication between Concordia students and people in higher positions.
Hendrickson said that his goal for next year is to increase student involvement in the Senate, even if that just means having surveys and a few outreach events. He said that “Without student input it is near impossible to know how we can best help them [students] across campus.”
Student Senate is Concordia’s student government. The Senate is student-led and meets weekly. The senate consists of the leadership team as well as smaller committees devoted to different areas of betterment across campus. Some of these include recycling, community service and public relations. These committees meet bi-weekly. Each main Student Senate meeting is open to the public. However, each dorm floor and club is asked to send a representative to these meetings.
One of the Student Senate’s main projects for the past academic year was working with marketing to get new signage around campus, for example the signs for the grills and the hammock village as most students don’t know how to access them. They also have been talking with Buildings and Grounds to get new sand in the sand volleyball pit.
