Music honor society inducts new members

Two of Concordia’s student musicians were inducted into a music honor society on Thursday, April 19.

Seniors Megan Kophamer of Seward, Neb., and Aaron Kortze of Rockford, Ill., were selected as the newest members of Pi Kappa Lambda, a national music honor society recognizing the music achievements of students and faculty.

“I feel very honored to be given this distinction, and I’m glad to have been able to grow musically here at Concordia,” said Kortze.

The purpose Pi Kappa Lambda, according to the society’s website, is to recognize and encourage the highest level of musical achievement and academic scholarship. Inductees must be in the top 20 percent of their class, show involvement in Concordia’s music department, pursue a career in music or music education and show a high aptitude for that career.  Inductees are selected by Concordia music faculty.
