Meet Studia Vitae instructor Jonathan Orr

Jonathan Orr serves as the chief academic and innovation officer for the Lutheran Education Association of Houston (LEAH), where he works alongside schools to strengthen academic programs, support leadership development and thoughtfully integrate emerging tools and practices into Lutheran education. In May, Orr will also serve as an instructor for Concordia University, Nebraska’s non-credit continuing education and lifelong learning program called Studia Vitae, teaching a course titled “Biblical Wisdom and AI.” Studia Vitae offers Christ-centered continuing education opportunities in a variety of focused areas through an online scheduled and self-paced learning platform.
Before stepping into his role with LEAH, Orr served in leadership at Faith Lutheran Middle School & High School, where he experienced firsthand the daily opportunities and challenges of Christian education. Those experiences continue to shape his desire to help schools and leaders move forward with wisdom, clarity and faithfulness as they navigate new terrain.
Orr’s Studia Vitae course is designed for Christian church and school leaders and nonprofit leaders but is open to anyone and explores a biblical foundation for using and making decisions about how to use AI.
Orr has a growing interest in how artificial intelligence is reshaping learning, leadership, and daily work, and he is passionate about helping educators, pastors, and other Christian professionals approach these changes with confidence in Christ. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys backpacking, fishing, and creating meaningful travel experiences for students, interests that have deepened his appreciation for journey, discovery, and the importance of wise guidance along the way. In this course, he invites participants into that same spirit of thoughtful exploration, using Scripture and the Small Catechism as trusted guides for living faithfully in a changing world.
Registration is now open for this course and additional offerings in Concordia University, Nebraska’s Studia Vitae program. Each CEU course is $150 and is delivered in six one-hour sessions. Exclusive pricing is available for program participants who are members of preferred partner organizations. The short, focused sessions are available as scheduled webinars that will also be recorded for future viewing. Enrollment is flexible and open to anyone with no prerequisites required, and no commitment is needed to take additional classes.
