Meet Assistant Safety and Security Manager Sierra Bustamante

Sierra Bustamante serves Concordia University, Nebraska as assistant safety and security manager. She has been with the university since August 2025.

She said she enjoys the problem solving and the “chaos management” that makes up a big part of her job. Being able to do both in a Christ-focused environment is what makes her role truly special, she said.

“Everyone has been very welcoming and supportive and mission-minded,” she said. “I appreciate that I am able to attend chapel, and I enjoy the devotions that come to my email…that has been incredibly helpful in growing my faith. “

Bustamante has three children: daughter Abigail (10), son Judah (8) and daughter Charlie (3). She said most of her hobbies revolve around them, but she also likes to read.

Bustamante first served the university as a part time overnight weekend security officer but transitioned into her current role in November 2025.
