When he graduated with an education degree from Concordia University, Kevin Wolf, ‘00 never dreamed he’d find himself in Denver, Colorado working for a home builder, but that’s where God sent him and he couldn’t be happier.

Kevin and Cameo (Stokebrand) Wolf met at Concordia and married in 1999 right after she graduated. Kevin had another semester to go. While they both received teaching degrees, Cameo is the only teacher in the family. Soon after graduation, he went to work as manager of Subway in Seward.

He now owns 18 Subway locations as well as Buffalo Wings and Rings in Lincoln’s Railyard.

“Although I never taught school, teaching skills are transferrable,” said Kevin. “What I learned in my degree about people I was able to use in food service.”

Fast forward to 2015. Kevin’s sister-in-law told him of an opportunity at LGI Homes in Colorado. He began working in community management and was later promoted to vice president.

“They needed someone to oversee their operations in Denver, so we packed up and moved to Brighton, Colorado.”

As vice president of sales for LGI, Kevin works for the 15th largest builder in the United States. While he works in sales, he also coaches his peers to success. One of his mentees was recently named the #3 salesperson out of 300 representatives at LGI. This gave Kevin the opportunity to visit Nasdaq in New York City and have his photo shown on Times Square.

“Because we are listed on the Nasdaq, once a year someone who is in the top 10 in sales qualifies for a trip to New York participate in the closing bell ceremony and have their picture taken behind the Nasdaq desk. Additionally, the person who coaches them also gets to take the trip. It was a great experience.”

While a student at Concordia, Kevin played baseball for one year and football four years.

“Coach Courtney Meyer was a big influence in my life. His work ethic and expectations made a huge impact. So many of the faculty and coaches made a difference in my life. Their influence was extremely important.”

Cameo teaches school in the Denver area and the two have one son, Parker. They are members at Zion Lutheran in Brighton.
