"Gospel Mime" returns for Holy Week performances at Concordia

A group of Concordia University, Nebraska students will perform a dramatic retelling of the story of Jesus Christ this Easter season in the third annual “Gospel Mime.” The performance will be held at 7 p.m. on March 20 (Palm Sunday) and 22 (Tuesday of Holy Week) in Weller Hall auditorium at Concordia.

“The Gospel Mime gives a real interpretation of the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ, without any words,” said Josh Jones, a junior at Concordia and manager of the 2015 and 2016 performances. “It shows a visual representation of parts of the Bible that is helpful for us to mature in our faith.”

The hour-long production tells the story of Christ’s life using minimal props. The show is set to contemporary Christian music.

The event is free and open to the public. An opportunity to provide a free-will donation will be available at the event. Donations will support “I’ve Got a Name,” an organization based out of Lincoln, Nebraska, committed to provide awareness to the public regarding child sexual exploitation and sex trafficking. The students hope to raise $500.
