Concordia’s Vocal Jazz Choir is set to perform their annual spring concert at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 8 at Neutral Grounds located on Seward’s Town Square.

“We’re excited to bring our jazz and pop-influenced vocal arrangements to the town square,” said Kurt von Kampen, director of the group. This marks the first time the choir has performed a full concert in downtown Seward and we’re hopeful that the community will come out and support the choir in the relaxed atmosphere of Neutral Grounds Coffee.”

The program includes pieces such as, settings of Frank Sinatra’s hits, “Fly Me To the Moon” and “A Day in the Life Of a Fool,” the Ella Fitzgerald classics, “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered” and “Dream a Little Dream Of Me,” several Broadway musical numbers including “Try to Remember” from the Fantastiks and “Singin’ in the Rain” from the musical of the same name, and other well-known hits spanning nearly eight decades.  Rounding out this year’s repertoire are two popular contemporary a capella arrangements by The Real Group’s, Anders Edenroth “I Sing You Sing” and “Since You’ve Been Gone.”
