Concordia University System representatives visit Concordia Nebraska, submit post-visit LIMOS report

Over the past several months, representatives of the Concordia University System (CUS) conducted visits to the campuses of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor, Concordia University Chicago, Concordia University, Saint Paul, Concordia University Irvine and Concordia University, Nebraska as part of a visitation process that is part of the Lutheran Identity and Mission Outcome Standards (LIMOS) initiative. LIMOS standards are a set of guidelines and expectations established by The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) to ensure that CUS institutions retain strong Lutheran identity and fulfill their mission effectively.  

In February 2025, Concordia University, Nebraska welcomed visitors from the Concordia University System to Seward for the university’s formal LIMOS visitation.  

“It is humbling to read such positive remarks and useful suggestions, prompting me to thank God for the countless ways in which He works through His Word and through our faculty and staff. By God’s grace, I look forward to what He has in store for this community next.”

“The practice of visitation goes back to first century Christianity. It is a beautiful way to strengthen, support, correct and guide each of our Concordias in their pursuit of Christ-centered excellence to the glory of God and the blessing of many,” said Concordia University, Nebraska President Dr. Bernard Bull. “Concordia Nebraska’s visitation team reported a true spirit of hospitality while also gaining a deeper appreciation of Concordia Nebraska. The visit concluded with a rough draft conversation about the team’s observations. They indicated no major concerns, instead providing a long and encouraging list of commendations, most notably that Concordia Nebraska is clearly a Christ-centered university.” 

Concordia Nebraska has since received the visitation team’s final, written report, which is available here. This report is posted on the Concordia University System website as a persistent and publicly available document.
