Concordia students garner NAHPERD awards

Two Concordia students were honored by the Nebraska Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance with its outstanding majors of the year award. Junior Mia Pauluhn, St. Louis, Mo., and senior Rachel Uden, Kenesaw, Neb., received their awards at NAHPERD's conference on Nov. 15 in Lincoln.

“I was very honored to receive this award. I did not expect it at all, and it just gives me more encouragement and excitement to continue pursuing this career that I am passionate about,” said Pauluhn.

 According to NAHPERD’s website the honor is given to individuals who have demonstrated meritorious service in the areas of health, physical education, recreation or dance within the state of Nebraska.One student in each major in the state of Nebraska receives these awards. Uden’s award was in Exercise Science and Pauluhn won for K-12 Physical Education.
