A cherished Seward tradition for decades, Christmas at Concordia concerts were held Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Seward.

Multiple ensembles from the music department at Concordia took part in sharing the Christmas message.

“Christmas at Concordia is a wonderful time when our top music ensembles join together to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ,” said Jessica Kite, director of the Handbell Choir. “We hope our music helped audience members prepare their hearts for Christmas and bring them joy.”

The three concerts featured the University A Cappella Choir, the University Symphonic Band, Male Chorus, Handbell Choir, Women’s Chorale and the University Brass Ensemble. The groups performed traditional hymns of the season and requested audience participation throughout the concerts. Scripture readings and original music from Concordia students and faculty were also part of the celebration.
