Concordia University, Nebraska hosted the annual student recital of the Lincoln Chapter of the American Guild of Organists on Monday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Music Center recital hall.

Students from the University of Nebraska and Nebraska Wesleyan University joined Concordia seniors Aaron Kortze, Rockford, Ill., Sara Schultz, Wamego, Kan., Jennette Morrison, Urbandale, Iowa, and junior Connie Kettner, Jacob, Ill., to perform on Concordia’s Casavant Frères organ. The 38-rank organ is a 3-manual instrument with more than 2,000 pipes. The manufacturer, Casavant Frères, is headquartered in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, and is the oldest continuing organ builder in North America. Concordia’s organ is Opus 3868 in the company’s history.

The annual event was sponsored by the American Guild of Organists to promote the traditional and evolving roles of the organ and to encourage excellence and inspiration in organ performance.
