Pink Week activities will take place Oct. 19-23 on Concordia University, Nebraska’s campus in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Pink week is a great opportunity for our Concordia community to raise awareness for breast cancer and help support individuals and families who have been affected by the disease,” says Director of Student Development Rehema Kavugha. “It has been a blessing to partner with Concordia’s health and wellness center and the Community Building Committee student group for the last three years to make this series of activities a campus-wide event.”

The Pink Week junior varsity volleyball game versus Union College will begin at 5:30 p.m. The varsity team will play the College of St. Mary at 7:30 p.m. Both games will take place in Walz Arena on Oct. 21.

During the volleyball games, community members can participate in a silent auction, with proceeds going to the Pink Bandanas non-profit organization that helps families from Nebraska who have been affected by breast cancer. There will also be numerous giveaways during the games.

In addition to the annual Pink Week volleyball game, student activities during the week include a “Find the Flamingos” scavenger hunt game, a girls’ only PJ party to learn about women’s health issues and a Bongo and Battle Ball Mania event.
