Concordia Board of Regents welcomes Gierke and Stadler

The Concordia Board of Regents welcomed two new members Aug. 7. Rev. Eugene Gierke of Seward and Dr. Andrew Stadler of Columbus were elected to serve on the board during the Nebraska District of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod convention in June.
“Rev. Eugene Gierke and Dr. Andrew Stadler bring a wonderful combination of experience and energy to their roles as regents,” said Concordia President Brian Friedrich.
Gierke previously served as Chair of the Board and as president of the Nebraska District for 12 years. He served congregations at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spencer, Neb., Christ Lutheran Church in Lynch, Neb. and Peace Lutheran Church in Waverly, Neb. He currently works part-time with the Lutheran Church Extension Fund for the Nebraska District.
Stadler serves as a dental surgeon and owner of Stadler Dental Care in Columbus, Neb. According to Friedrich, Stadler is “relatively new” to Concordia but has “a deep commitment to Lutheran education at all levels and is excited to bring his expertise in health care to the Concordia Board.”
Additionally, Jim Knoepfel of Fremont and Lyle Middendorf of Lincoln were re-elected to the Board for another term. Every three years, the Nebraska District elects four regents, a slate of one pastor, one commissioned minister and two laypersons of district LCMS congregations.
