Concordia alumni to exhibit art at Marxhausen Gallery

Concordia alumni Holle Anderson, ‘94 and David Dolak, ‘03 will present a joint exhibition with original pieces of art in the Marxhausen Gallery of Art located in Jesse Hall on Concordia’s campus.

Concordia alumni Holle Anderson, ‘94 and David Dolak, ‘03 will present a joint exhibition featuring original pieces of art in the Marxhausen Gallery of Art from Oct. 8 to Nov. 3.

An opening reception will be held from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 8; artist David Dolak will talk at 2 p.m. in the Thom Leadership Education Center Auditorium.

Artist and designer David Dolak graduated from Concordia University, Nebraska in 2003 and currently is partner and chief creative officer at Phoenix Creative Co. in St. Louis, Mo. His contribution, “Since 2003: An Alumnus Story” will highlight a series of paintings and linocut prints. Drawn from candid photography of family members, Dolak’s work explores the dynamic between common, ubiquitous moments in life and seeks to expose the profound sum of their entirety.

Holle Bode-Anderson graduated from Concordia in 1994. Since then, she has become an award-winning designer, as well as owner and creative director of Holle Inc. in Chicago, Ill. In the last 16 years since the company started, Anderson has amassed over 70 clients as the sole proprietor.

Holle’s exhibition titled, "Hello Holle" will showcase a wide assortment of solutions for visual communication including business collateral, annuals, branding, web and promotional work.

"Holle's graphic design work has always been characterized by a commitment to community, as well as her own exuberant energy and expression,” said James Bockelman, professor of art at Concordia.

The exhibit is open to the public and free of charge. The Marxhausen Gallery is located in Jesse Hall and is open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday–Friday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday while classes are in session.
