A program of clarinet and piano performances was presented Tuesday, March 22, at 7 p.m. in the recital hall of the Music Building on the Concordia University, Nebraska campus.

Dr. Elizabeth Grimpo, assistant professor of music, was joined by former Concordia faculty member, Jessica Lindsey, and Christopher R. Nichols, principal clarinet for the 312th Army Band and the Philharmonic of Greater Kansas City. The program included works by Francois Poulenc, Felix Mendelssohn, Edison Denisov, Georges Meister and Astor Piazzolla.

“Many different moods and sounds were represented on the program,” shares Grimpo. “The Mendelssohn concert piece is a charming work and featured a clarinet and basset horn.”

Also included on the evening’s program are a Poulenc sonata Grimpo described as “including a whole range of emotions” and a tango by Piazolla.
