Audiences will catch the holiday spirit at the annual Christmas at Concordia concert.

The Concordia University Department of Music presented the annual Christmas at Concordia concert at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward.  Three festive concert performances on Dec. 4-5 featured the University A Cappella Choir, the University Symphonic Band, Concordia Male Chorus, Concordia Handbell Choir, Women’s Chorale and the University Brass Ensemble. The Saturday performance took place at 3 p.m. and Sunday’s performances were scheduled for 3 and 7 p.m.

More than 200 student musicians were involved in the event. Along with the ensembles, Dr. Jeffrey Blersch, university organist, and featured student soloists also performed.

During the concerts Scripture readings will be woven together with Christmas music. The program includes traditional holiday hymns, audience participation and pieces composed or arranged by members of the department.
