Concordia’s 16-voice University Chamber Choir will perform a variety of sacred and secular choral pieces in its concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska.

"I think the audience will really enjoy the diversity of musical selections,” said Professor of Music Kurt von Kampen. “The choir always strives to sing with great expressiveness, and we hope those who attend not only hear the beautiful music, but also feel it."

Highlights of the concert will include a setting of Psalm 46 by K. Lee Scott, a rhythmic arrangement of the Christmas carol "Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day" by John Gardner, a new interpretation of “Go To Dark Gethsemane” written by Concordia adjunct professor David von Kampen and three movements from Randall Thompson's "Frostiana," which are musical settings of poems by Robert Frost.

The select choir, chosen from the 72-voice University A Cappella Choir, sings a diverse repertoire of sacred and secular choral music from many historical periods.

The University Chamber Choir was formed in the fall of 1998 and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, with concert tours to Arizona, California, Colorado and throughout the Midwest. The choir will tour Florida from May 10–17, 2015.
