The University Chamber Choir, a select choir chosen from the 70-voice University A Cappella Choir, sings a diverse repertoire of sacred and secular choral music from many historical periods.

The Concordia Chamber Choir concluded its tour of the West Coast with a home concert on Sunday, Feb. 19, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. The program featured several pieces composed by Concordia faculty and audience participation.

“We asked the audience to join in song with us on two hymns – the first was the familiar ‘The Church’s One Foundation’ and the second, ‘The Living Water,’" said Dr. Kurt von Kampen, director of the choir. Von Kampen composed the second hymn.

The choir also sang a set of three children’s songs written by David von Kampen, adjunct professor of composition at Concordia.

The sixteen-voice choir’s program included other selections from their tour, including “Lobet den Herren” by Melchior Franck, folk tunes from Ireland and several spirituals.
