Grab a Bulldog sweatshirt and search your shelves for cans of food to donate. The 14th annual Cattle Classic Basketball Tournament and accompanying food drive took place Nov. 8-9 at the Walz arena at Concordia.
The tournament, co-sponsored by Cattle National Bank, served as a food collection opportunity for the Blue Valley Community Action food pantry. This year the tournament also provided the first opportunity to see Concordia's basketball teams play on their home court,
The women's team, 3-0 so far this season and ranked No. 5 in the nation, continued a challenging nonconference slate. The men's team, 0-2 on the young season, also tested its mettle at the tournament against two ranked opponents – No. 18 Culver-Stockton College of NAIA Division I (Friday at 8 p.m.) and No. 13 Oklahoma Wesleyan (Saturday at 7 p.m.).
